Ser Bannon White
Lore Warden. Knight Errant. Bastard.
Ser Bannon White stands at 5’8", a rather nondescript man with the exception of a wine-stain birthmark across half of his face. His black hair shows the early signs of balding near the crown, and overall he looks far older than his actual age, his gaunt frame only magnifying the effect. It is clear he has been chronically malnourished. His beard is nicely kept, as is his attire, which appears to have been fitted. They do well in helping to understate the fact that Ser Bannon is not a particularly handsome man.
Ser Bannon’s personal steed, Traveller is a Percheron, 17 hands high and just under 2,000 pounds. His coat is primarily black, although some spots of white are visible around the forehead and the coronets. While well-trained and of good stock, Traveller lacks barding, and shows no signs of injury. This, coupled with his young age, makes it likely that the horse has not directly participated in warfare before. He is quite docile during day-to-day activities, and is openly friendly toward anyone who does not approach menacingly.
An Irish Wolfhound, Bismarck towers over most other dogs and even some halflings. Unlike many guard dogs, Bismarck is not stand-offish around others. However, unless kenneled or directed by Ser Bannon, he follows the knight everywhere. In this sense, it’s clear that Bismarck is more of a guardian dog than a guard dog, his focus centered on the wellbeing of his master over the objective presence of strangers. Unfortunately, at the old age of six, the wolfhound is at most years away from death.
The party has learned that Ser Bannon is a knight, or bannerman, to House Lebeda. In his introduction to Garess, Bannon told him that he formerly owed allegiance to Lord Duress. This is no longer the case.
It is clear that Bannon is both a deeply religious man as well as a habitual note-taker. His evening ritual, like clockwork, consists of:
- washing his face in a basin
- sitting down to record the day’s activities in his journal
- praying to his god (DC 5 Region: Abadar, as he almost exclusively uses honorifics aloud) quietly in his tent or bedside.
